Issue

A "ZENworks System Settings Change" dialog appears during phase2 of the build process.


Solution

ZENworks Configuration Management uses two settings for identifying the location of a machine.

  • Location Awareness Lite  
    Collects limited network information provided by the operating system to determine the location. Automatically switches to full Location Awareness if ZENworks Endpoint Security Management is installed and enabled.
  • Location Awareness  
    Installs ZENworks drivers to collect enhanced network information used to determine the location. Provides a more accurate determination of the device's location.  


If the ZENworks Endpoint Security Management component is not enabled for the zone the Location Awareness setting should be set to Location Awareness Lite.

  1. Configure Location Awareness

    To enable Location Awareness Lite for the zone:

    • Open ZENworks Control Center

    • Select Configuration - Device Management then ZENworks Agent

    • In the Agent Location Awareness section select Location Awareness Lite

    • Click OK to save the configuration

  2. Test

    • Restore a project

    • Monitor the build process and ensure the "ZENworks System Settings change" dialog does not appear
