Issue:

  • When creating a build that uses Windows 10 Creators Edition build 15063 (known as version 1703), the Start Menu shows icons that are blank, apart from a white arrow, and this arrow does not ever go away.


  • Executable (.exe) files downloaded using the Edge browser have an underscore in the extension (._exe)


Solution:

These are both Microsoft bugs, and are fixed in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, build 16299 (known as version 1709) - see our blog Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators Update for support information.



NOTE: This issue will still occur even with version 1709 if the machine being built does not have access to the internet.
